A few weeks ago, my biracial son graduated from university. He is currently in a gap year, traveling around South America. Before he left, he asked me for advice about how to manage challenging situations that he may encounter. I gave him this one piece of advice: “If you are ever in trouble, find a Black woman; she will help you.”
